Experience

I’ve been writing since I could read, which wasn’t until I was thirteen years old (but that’s a story for another day).  Writing is my passion, and I’ve devoted many years to deepening my skill set.  Like most writers I have files and files of unfinished work, but I’ve successfully completed two novels and two books of poetry.  One of my poetry books was published by a teeny tiny publishing company way back in 2006, and I’m beginning the process of getting my latest novel published.  The writing life can get lonely sometimes, so if blogging my journey can help someone feel less alone, this page has served its purpose.

About Me

I am a wife and a mom to eight kids (yes, eight, no typo there), a writer, a substitute teacher, a caffeine addict, a dabbler in the visual arts and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.  Four years ago I wrote a blog called No DNA Required, wherein I shared my adventures in motherhood and adopting five of my children.  After the five arrived I took a break from blogging to focus on raising my small herd, but I promised my oldest daughter that I wouldn’t give up on this writing thing, this God-sized dream, and thus, The Ink Pledge was born.  Thanks for stopping by my page…now let’s get writing!
